RYAN CRAYCROFT

Ryan Craycroft is a guitarist, composer, and educator in Columbus, Ohio. After getting his first guitar at the age of twelve he quickly fell in love with music and has been playing ever since. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music from The Ohio State University in 2009, where he studied jazz guitar performance. His group, Ryan Craycroft Quartet, plays classic jazz standards, as well as Ryan’s original compositions and can be seen performing live at some of the cities’ finest jazz venues.

This special performance will feature Jim Rupp on drums, Jon Eshelman on keyboard, and Nate Smith on upright bass.

Djangophonique is an award-winning project that delivers the infectious joy, and expressive freedom that is at the heart of Django Reinhardt’s jazz manouche. With respect for tradition and a fearless creativity that bends the conventions of the style, Djangophonique is keeping the Hot Club revival alive and well. The result is a sound that’s unmistakable to fans of the music, and alluring to the uninitiated—a sound that can bring the lively energy of a Parisian dance hall to the quietest listening room or captivate a buzzing festival audience with the aching nostalgia of a shimmering ballad.

LYRATA: THE PROMUSICA STRING QUARTET!

Since 2016, the Lyrata String Quartet has moved audiences with its captivating musicality and dynamic programming. From the fiery depths of Argentinian Tangos to the nuanced genius of the Classical greats, from long-lost folk music to blockbuster hits, Lyrata creates cohesive stories through seemingly unconnected musical works of art. No genre is left unturned and each concert program is as opposite from the last as it will be from the next.

Exquisite playing and artistic mastery are only half of what audiences can expect. Lyrata concert experiences dissolve the wall between performer and audience member, connecting through music, storytelling, history, humor, and humanity. Audience members are greeted like old friends, encouraged to ask questions and leave feeling like part of the Lyrata family.

The members of Lyrata are current or former members of ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and New Albany Symphony Orchestra. They are the quartet-in-residence at The Refectory Restaurant and have performed in numerous venues in Columbus including Shadowbox Live!, Columbus Museum of Art, Franklin Park Conservatory, and Murfield Village Golf Club. Lyrata does various outreach events with student orchestral programs around the city.

BEN LUCAS

Ben Lucas is Columbus’ Resident Crooner!

Ben grew up singing in church choirs and has been performing regularly in various venues since 2016. His love and passion for music began in church and spans genres from Contemporary Christian/Sacred Music to Classical, Jazz, and Broadway. His favorite artists and influences include Michael Bublé, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael W. Smith, and Amy Grant. Ben’s smooth tenor voice has been described as having a distinctly beautiful tonal quality, reminiscent of a classic crooner, but with a new & fresh approach.

In 2020, Ben released a Columbus, OH recorded 12 track studio album. In 2021, he began recording on a more professional level, and has since released multiple studio recordings from Nashville, TN. His Christmas recordings in particular have received airplay on major FM radio networks during the holidays. Many of his recordings also receive airplay on various internet radio networks in The US and across the pond in The UK.

ALEKSI CAMPAGNE

NamedPenguin Eggs & Roots Music Canada’s New Discovery of the Year! , Aleksi Campagne offers a contemporary, indie-folk take on the time-honoured fiddle-singing tradition. Born and raised in Montreal, Aleksi’s music blends folk songwriting with an edgy, multi-layered sound resulting from his unique combination of voice, violin and looping-effect pedals. Aleksi was awarded the Canadian Folk Music Award for francophone artist of the year for his debut album in April 2024

DAN WHITE QUARTET

Dan White was born in Cleveland, OH, and grew up near Buffalo, New York. He attended The Ohio State University studying music education and jazz performance. During his time in Columbus, Ohio, he met and formed Huntertones and taught middle school band before relocating to New York City in 2014.

White has established himself as a highly collaborative saxophonist and composer and bandleader of Huntertones. Currently on tour with Lake Street Dive Cory Wong, and Kurt Elling SuperBlue featuring Charlie Hunter with recent performances at Madison Square Garden, Bonnaroo, North Sea Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, and on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

MOLLY MILLER

Everything in Molly Miller’s career has come organically.The Los Angeles guitarist and songwriter has followed the path in front of her with a sense of curiosity and openness, proving that if you’re meant to do something, you’ll do it.

From creating the Molly Miller Trio with Jennifer Condos and Jay Bellerose in 2016 to playing and touring with artists like Jason Mraz to teaching guitar at the University of Southern California, Molly brings a passion for music and a sophisticated, raw style to everything she does. 

“The best things in life happen naturally, which has been true for me,” Molly says. “I’ve been able to have a diversified career that has served me very well and I think it all informs each other. Not only does it keep me busy, it keeps me challenged. I’m fortunate that everything I do brings me joy and the goal is to grow from it as well.”

Molly’s latest endeavor is The Ballad of Hotspur, Molly Miller Trio’s third album and follow-up to 2021’s St. George. The album, a collection of instrumental Americana jazz songs tinged with folk and Surf Rock vibes, harkens back to 2020 when musicians were forced off the road by the pandemic. Molly realized she could take advantage of the moment to write new music, so she and Jennifer began sending ideas back and forth. Eventually, the trio found themselves in the same room again. 

“These songs came to life when the three of us played them together,” Molly says. “There’s something that’s really specific about the three of us. There’s a shared vision of what the music should be. We come from an eclectic mix of backgrounds, but it all melds together.”

ARI HEST

Ari Hest is a grammy nominated singer/songwriter who began his career as an independent artist in 2001. He built a loyal following touring the college circuit extensively between 2000 and 2003, after which he released two albums on Columbia Records, Someone To Tell (2004) and The Break-In (2007) all the while touring both in the U.S. and abroad with artists such as Martin Sexton, Suzanne Vega, and Ani Difranco.

Chamber Brews is a dynamic new music ensemble; known for multi-genre collaborations with outstanding artists and designing unique and interactive programming.
